Andhra Pradesh: Five Telugu Desam Party MLAs were suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Monday for disrupting the proceedings.

Even when Speaker Tammineni Sitaram declared that the Andhra Pradesh government would make a statement after the second adjournment of the Assembly proceedings, the Opposition leaders staged a protest over the Jangareddygudem fatalities.

Later the session was adjourned again as the TDP members reportedly disrupted the session by entering the speaker's podium and chanting anti-government slogans.

During the previous week, 16 people have died in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district. Two more people have died on Saturday, taking the total number of deaths in Jangareddygudem town to 18, despite officials from numerous departments conducting an inquiry.

The deaths were assumed to be the result of spurious liquor.

Meanwhile, officials from the Departments of Revenue, Police, Excise, Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), Medical & Health investigated the deaths. The teams went to the victims' homes to gather information as part of the inquiry.

On the other hand, officials claim that preliminary investigations reveal that they died due to different reasons. They were suspected of having health issues such as heart issues and post-Covid complications.
