New Delhi: In an effort to prevent funding for the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will move the 'Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery System (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022' in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, as per the house's list of business, reported by news agency PTI. Family Courts (Amendment) and Indian Antarctic bill are also listed to be taken up in Lok Sabha.


The Weapons Of Mass Destruction Bill aims to empower the Central Government to freeze, acquire or attach funds and other financial assets or economic resources to prevent such funding.


The draft legislation has been brought to approve the family courts working in a few states.


The shortfall of a mandatory central government notice has placed a question mark on the purview of the family courts put in a position to get a quick settlement of marriage-related debates in two states - Nagaland and Himachal Pradesh.

The government has carried this bill to assist with approving the appointment of judicial officers and court staff in the family courts of the two states with retrospective impact to overcome the legal difficulty.


Over 710 family courts are working in 26 states.


Also, Union Minister Jitendra Singh's name is listed for moving the Indian Antarctic Bill in Lok Sabha.


The bill looks to give impact the Antarctic Treaty, and the Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty.


It will apply to any individual, vessel, or airplane that is a part of an Indian expedition to Antarctica under a grant issued under the bill. 


The two houses will likewise pay tributes to former Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and Mwai Kibaki the third President of Kenya - - three world leaders who passed on since the last parliament session - - as a feature of their obituary references.
