New Delhi: Musician Diljit Dosanjh releases a song titled 'RiRi (Rihanna)' after musician Rihanna posted her support towards the Farmers who are protesting against the new farm laws introduced by the central government.

Rihanna on Tuesday posted a tweet which highlighted the government's latest crackdown on the agitating farmers by cutting off internet services in many regions. Sharing the news report on the ongoing farmers’ protest in India, the Umbrella singer Rihanna took to her Twitter and wrote, “Why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest”

This has drawn international attention to the farmers who have been protesting since November 2020 against the three farm laws which was proposed by the central government. The government have stayed the laws for 18 months, which hasn't been satisfactory for the farmers as they want the 'black laws' be revoked altogether. Farmers and the government have had 11 rounds of talks and failed to find common ground as the farmers are sticking to their demands.

Things took a turn for the worse when protesters held a tractor rally on January 26th 2021 and violence between the police and protesters ensued. After which, the Union Home Ministry has ordered suspension of internet at Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri borders.

Reacting to the song, Kangana Ranaut took a dig at this stating that it was all a PR stunt for the song and 'he wants to make to rupees'. To which he responded "2 rupees, don't tell me the job that you do, we can make a song in half an hour. I don't feel like making one on you even though it'll take only 2 minutes. You have to speak everywhere (on everything) go yaar don't bore me, mind your business." (translated)
