A woman reportedly fell victim to a scam amounting to Rs 19.23 lakh in Dwarka, as per a police report on Friday. According to the FIR, the complainant was approached via a social networking site on September 18 of the preceding year. The message offered part-time work-from-home opportunities and prompted her to join a telegram group. Initially, she paid Rs 5,000 to the accused and subsequently received Rs 5,600 after completing assigned tasks.
The victim made additional investments the following day, but the accused informed her that she had to finish all the requirements before she could withdraw the money, according to the FIR.
"When I asked for a withdrawal, they started telling me that I have to complete all the tasks first, or the total amount will be lost. Due to fear, I kept on completing the tasks. I borrowed Rs 7 lakh as a loan and arranged Rs 6 lakh from friends," the complainant informed the police, as quoted by PTI.
