Republic Day Violence The Delhi Police has annouced cash rewards of Rs. 1 lakh each on Deep Sidhu, Jugraj Sigh and two other associates who were allegedly involved in the flag hoisting at the Red Fort on Republic Day last month. Rs 50,000 has also been announced for the arrest of  four other persons who were allegedly involved in violence in Delhi on the same day. 
Delhi Police has set a new Special Investigation Team (SIT) which will be led by Joint Commissioner BK Singh and three DCPs - Joy Turkey, Bhesham Singh and Monika Bhardwaj. They have been thrust upon the task to closely look into the violence that broke out in January 26th.

On January 26th 2021, farmers were given the permission to conduct a 'peaceful' tractor rally when the day arrived what started out as a peaceful protest quickly turned violent. Initially, Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu and the gangster-turned-social activist Lakha Sidhana were named by the Delhi Police in an FIR in connection with the Red Fort incident and the violence.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Red Fort are hoisted a 'Nishan Sahib' flag a symbol of their protest. Earlier, Congress leader Ravneet Singh Bittu in an exclusive interview with ABP News said that actor Deep Sidhu is behind tractor parade violence. In his defense, Sidhu has said that he has been wrongly accused of inciting violence. Adding to this he has also said not to associate Red Fort violence with National Integrity. Jugraj Singh was the who had climbed the flagpole at the Red Fort and unfurled the religious flag, Delhi Police is now offering one lakh cash reward for information on him.
