Delhi Govt Takes Strict Action For Violating Covid-19 Norms; Shuts Punjabi Basti, Janta Market Till Nov 30

District Disaster Management Authority West said that Punjabi Basti market and Janta market, Nangloi will remain shut till November 30.

In wake of spike in the Coronavirus cases and people not following COVID-19 rules and measures, Delhi Government has decided to shut a few markets in the National Capital. ALSO READ | Uttar Pradesh Ramps Up Fight Against Coronavirus, To Test People Coming In From Delhi Via Bus, Train & Flight In an official notification issued on Sunday, District Disaster Management Authority West said that the directives issued by Delhi govt with regard to wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing et. are being flouted in Punjabi Basti market and Janta market, Nangloi. In overall public interest, it is hereby ordered to close these markets till 30th Nov.
Similarly, North Delhi Municipal Corporation's Rohini Zone sealed Janta market in Ward 49 of Nangloi area upto 30th November for not following social distancing norms and overcrowding. The market was sealed with the help of district administration and local police. Meanwhile, the health department team on Delhi-Noida between Chilla and DND is conducting random Corona tests. During this, a person who is found to be Corona positive is not being given entry in Noida. Coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in the national capital Delhi. The death toll has also increased. Recently, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced to increase 663 ICU beds in government hospitals.
