New Delhi: Delhi logged 970 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, remaining below the 1000-mark for the second time this week. As per the data shared by the state health department, one person succumbed to the infection while the positivity rate has declined to 3.34 percent.
A total of 29,037 tests were conducted for the Covid-19 in the national capital a day before, stated the health department.
With the new cases, Delhi's overall COVID-19 infection tally rose to 18,97,141, while the death toll rose to 26,184, according to the latest health bulletin.
On Tuesday, Delhi had reported 799 cases of Covid-19 with positivity rate at 4.98 percent.
Covid Cases In India
Meanwhile, countrywide 2,897 new cases of Covid-19 were reported with 54 fatalities. With fresh cases adding up, the country's overall tally of cases reached upto 4,31,10,586 while the cumulative death toll went up to 5,24,157.
As per the data by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, number of recoveries reported in last 24 hours had outnumbered total number of infections, the active cases alos decreased to 19,494.
The 54 new fatalities include 48 from Kerala, two from Maharashtra, and one each from Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. With the addition of new fatalities, the death toll in the country now stands at 5,24,157.
Covid Cases In Maharashtra
On Tuesday, Maharashtra reported 223 fresh cases of Covid-19 with two deaths taking the overall tally to 78,79,622 and the toll to 1,47,849, news agency PTI had reported.
The two fatalities that took place in the state were reported from Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation limits, part of Thane district which falls in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and in Satara, western Maharashtra.
