New Delhi: Water supply will remain disrupted in many areas of Delhi on Friday due to a rise in ammonia levels in the Yamuna river. According to Delhi Jal Board officials, the ammonia level in the Yamuna river has increased in Wazirabad. Due to this, Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants have been affected. The utility said ammonia concentration in the river has expanded to two particles for each million (ppm) because of pollution from Haryana.

The water level in the Wazirabad pond is likewise low - - 670 feet as against an ordinary of 674.5 feet.

Water supply remained disrupted in several districts of the capital on Thursday evening as well. In such a situation, people had to face a lot of trouble. The acceptable maximum limit of ammonia in drinking water, as per the Bureau of Indian Standards, is 0.5 ppm. But at Wazirabad barrage it reached more than this.
