Aam Aadmi Party MLA Atishi on Monday said that Delhi government will have to temporarily shut some vaccination centres in the national capital due to shortage of Covaxin. The leader said that Delhi has less than a day's stock of Covaxin left for the 45 plus age group and hence, the centres administering Covaxin to the 18-44 age group have been closed for now. 


"We will have five days stock of Covishield, but less than a day's stock of Covaxin for 45 plus age group after today's vaccination," Atishi said.

The AAP MLA urged the Central government to urgently suppply vaccines for the 18-44 age group. 


"We urge the Centre to supply us vaccines for the 18-44 age group since the new strain of coronavirus is affecting the young people," she said.


While issuing Delhi’s Vaccination Bulletin for 17th May, Atishi said that Delhi started walk-in vaccinations for 45-plus from Monday as there are many people who don't have smartphones and can't register online for vaccinations. 



Delhi on Monday reported 4,524 new cases of Covid-19, 340 deaths and 10,918 recoveries in the last 24 hours. 


With this, the total cases of Covid-19 recorded till date are 13,98,391 while the death toll due to deadly disease stands at 21,846. There are as many as 56,049 active cases in the national capital while 13,20,496 patients have recovered from the noel virus.
