The BJP on Sunday drummed up the fact the Centre's decision to regularise 1,731 illegal colonies have helped 40 lakh people living in Delhi, just ahead of the Delhi election early next year. BJP hopes to use Modi's charisma to win the Delhi election, as it was decimated by AAP in the last polls.
Stressing on the move, Modi said, "Now you have full rights to your house... Full rights."
The rally was organised by the Delhi BJP to thank Prime Minister Modi for regularising over 1,700 unauthorised colonies in the city.
Modi said that the city records highest sale of water purifier in the country as he rejected the claims of the AAP dispensation about clean drinking water being supplied to the people.
He also said that had Delhi government not created political hurdles, work on Metro Phase-IV would have started long back.
Despite hurdles created by the Delhi government, the PM said, the BJP-led central government has ensured that the metro network grows at a rate of 25 kilometres every year against 14 kilometres before 2014.
He claimed a substantial segment of Delhi had to withstand "political commitments made of lies". He reiterated it was the BJP which brought a "permanent solution".
As he said, "Aisa Nahi chalega, na mai chalne dunga" (This can't go on. Neither will I let it continue)," the huge crowd broke into applause.
BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari, Delhi MP Parvesh Verma and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar – all the leaders tore into Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the ruling AAP government.
"You have to decide which government you want. Ayushman Bharat is implemented everywhere in India apart from Bengal and Delhi. It's decision time on whether you want free medical treatment or not," asserted Javadekar.
