New Delhi: India recorded 1,109 new coronavirus cases, 1,213 recoveries, and 43 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The number of active cases in India dipped to 11492, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in an update.
As many as 1,213 recoveries took place in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 425,00,002.
The active cases stand at 0.03 per cent, while the recovery rate is currently 98.76 per cent.
The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 0.24 per cent and 0.23 per cent respectively,
A total of 185.38 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive,
A total of 79.29 crore tests have been conducted so far. As many as 4,53,582 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
According to the Union health ministry, a total of 1,87,03,45,095 vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories so far.
The first case of the new Covid-19 variant, XE, was detected in Mumbai on Thursday, April 6. The new variant is a hybrid strain of two Omicron sub-variants – BA.1 and BA.2.
A case of the Kappa variant was also detected during a sero survey.
