New Delhi: Congress leader Randeep Surjewala, the candidate for Rajya Sabha elections, on Thursday had a slip of tongue moment when he wrongly attributed 'cheer haran' or Draupadi's disrobing in Mahabharat to Goddess Sita. "BJP lost badly in the previous elections. Truth, democracy, law, and morals will win. BJP wants to do cheer Haran of democracy, just like cheer Haran of Goddess Sita. But they will lose [in Rajya Sabha polls] and their masks will fall off," Surjewala said during a press conference ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls.

After this statement of the Congress leader, people are now trolling him on social media. Questions are being asked about his statement.

BJP national spokesperson Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore asked, "Why the Congress hates Hindus so much."

"Rahul Gandhi, who does election tours from temple to temple, is irritated by a sacred word like Hindutva. His party keeps insulting Lord Ram. Today again, the Congress has hurt the faith of Hindus by making indecent remarks on Mata Sita," tweeted Rathore, who is the Jaipur (Rural) MP.

Meanwhile, the voting for four seats in the Rajya Sabha elections in Rajasthan is to be held on June 10. There are 5 candidates in the fray for four seats. Therefore, any lapse in the political corridors becomes an issue. The BJP is taking a dig at Surjewala for his slippery language, while people on social media are condemning the statement.
