US ends normal trade ties with Russia over Ukraine invasion, news agency AFP reported. The development came soon after the 193-member United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution on Thursday suspending Russia from the world body's Human Rights Council even as India abstained from voting.

Security Beefed Up As Pakistan's SC To Deliver Verdict On No-Trust Vote Today

Chief Justice of Pakistan Bandial, who is heading a five-member bench of Supreme Court, is all set to deliver the verdict on National Assembly deputy speaker Qasim Suri's move to dismiss a no-confidence motion against embattled Prime Minister Imran Khan at around 7:30 pm today.


Meanwhile, Dawn reported that security has been beefed up at Surpreme Court premises ahead of the much-awaited verdict.

 Pakistan's Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Thursday noted that National Assembly deputy speaker Qasim Suri's move to dismiss a no-confidence motion against embattled Prime Minister Imran Khan through a controversial ruling is, prima facie, a violation of Article 95 of the Constitution and 'erroneous'.


The verdict will be announced at 7:30 pm in the evening, news agency PTI reported.

India on Thursday said it desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan while asserting that the onus is on Islamabad to create an environment free of terror and hostility for such engagement.


"The government's consistent position has been that India desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan and is committed to addressing issues, if any, bilaterally and peacefully in an atmosphere free of terror, hostility and violence," Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said in Rajya Sabha.

The Ministry of AYUSH is scheduled to organize an event on the occasion of World Health Day at the Red Fort to demonstrate the common yoga practice, according to the official statement.


Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is likely to be the chief guest of the event, according to the statement. The event will also see the presence of several Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors from various countries, prominent sports personalities and Yoga Gurus.


Apart from World Health Day, Thursday is also the 75th day of the countdown to International Yoga Day (IYD). The Ministry along with its various stakeholders has prepared a countdown program of 100 days for the 8th International Day of Yoga, in which 100 organizations are promoting Yoga in 100 locations, and cities.


Every year on 7 April, people all over the world celebrate World Health Day. This year this day will mark the seventieth anniversary of WHO (World Health Organisation).


UNGA to vote on suspension of Russia from UNHRC


The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is scheduled to decide on the suspension of Russia from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).


The UN General Assembly will continue its Emergency Special Session Thursday morning and the gathering will be open and discourses will be accessible on camera through UNTV, CNN cited the representative for the leader of the UNGA, Paulina Kubiak Greer, as saying.
