PFI Activists Stage Protests Across Kerala Against NIA-Led Raids, Calls For Hartal
Popular Front of India (PFI) activists organised protests across Kerala on Thursday to protest raids on their offices, leaders' homes and other premises by various agencies led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Expressing its strong protest against the action of the central agencies, the organisation has called for a morning-to-evening strike in Kerala on Friday.
The raids were conducted for allegedly funding terrorist activities in the country.
A PFI member said that its state committee found that the arrests of the outfit's leaders were part of "state-sponsored terrorism".
Abdul Sathar, state general secretary of PFI, said, "A hartal will be observed in the state on September 23 against the RSS-controlled fascist government's attempt to silence dissenting voices using the central agencies," Abdul Sathar, state general secretary."
He said that the strike would be organised from 6 am to 6 pm.
As soon as the news of the raids broke in the morning, PFI workers marched towards the places where the raids were conducted and raised slogans against the Center and its investigative agencies.
Noida Schools For Classes 1-8 To Remain Shut Due To Rains: Order
Schools of classes 1 to 8 in Gautam Buddh Nagar will remain closed on Friday, September 23 due to heavy rains, an official order announced on Thursday as reported by news agency PTI.
Noida DM Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj said in an order, "On September 23, all schools from class 1 to 8 in the district would remain closed." Delhi NCR region has been receiving heavy rains since Thursday morning.
Amid heavy rains, the Gurugram Disaster Management Authority has advised all corporate offices and private institutions in the district to cooperate with employees to work from home to avoid traffic congestion and carry out repair work.
