CMs Of Assam, Mizoram To Meet In Delhi For Border Talks
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma will meet in New Delhi on Wednesday, three days after the earlier programme, an official said on Tuesday.
The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held on Monday (September 19), but had to be postponed as Sarma returned to his state for an emergency.
The CMO official said that the two chief ministers will now meet at Assam House in New Delhi on Wednesday to find an amicable solution to the complex border dispute.
Union Cabinet To Approve National Logistics Policy: Report
The Union Cabinet is likely to approve the National Logistics Policy in its meeting on Wednesday, sources said as reported by news agency PTI.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented the outline of this policy on September 17 itself saying, "from 13-14 per cent (of the GDP), we should all aim to bring the logistics cost to single-digit as soon as possible."
Under the Logistics Policy, it is proposed to develop a Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) which will act as a facilitator of various government and private agencies.
Kochi Leg Of Bharat Jodo Yatra From Wednesday
The Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress will begin from the Kumbalam toll plaza at 6.30 a.m. on Wednesday under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Congress leaders and party workers started their 'padayatra' from Chertala in the morning and walked 21 km. Tuesday's journey began by planting a Rambutan sapling at St. Michaels College.
The 3,500-km march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir will be completed in 150 days and cover as many as 12 states. From Kerala, the Yatra will traverse through the state for the next 18 days, reaching Karnataka on September 30. It will be in Karnataka for 21 days before moving north. The Padyatra (march) will cover a distance of 25 km every day.
