Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted people on Engineer's Day and said India is blessed to have a skilled and talented pool of engineers contributing to nation building.
Engineer's Day is observed to mark the birth anniversary of engineer statesman M Visvesvaraya, a diwan of erstwhile Mysore kingdom, who is credited with pioneering engineering works.
Modi tweeted, "Greetings to all engineers on Engineers Day. Our nation is blessed to have a skilled and talented pool of engineers who are contributing to nation building. BJP President JP Nadda To Visit Nagaland
National President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - J. P. Nadda will make a two-day official visit to Nagaland from 15 September. According to a Nagaland BJP media cell release, Nadda will land at Dimapur airport on Thursday and will proceed directly to Wokha by helicopter, where he will address a public meeting at 12 noon.
BJP had gone to the state poll in 2018 with the slogan 'Election for Solution' to the decades-old Naga political problem. Union Home Minister had on September 12 asked the Nagaland government's Core Committee on Naga Political Issue (NPI) to convince the NSCN(IM) to ink the final agreement.

Online nominations and recommendations for Padma Awards 2023, to be announced on the eve of Republic Day next year, will be accepted till Thursday, said the Union Home Ministry.
The ministry May 1 launched the National Awards Portal for accepting nominations and recommendations for the Padma awards.
According to an official statement issued by the ministry, the last date for submission of nominations for the Padma awards is September 15, 2022.

President Draupadi Murmu will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of England. The President will pay tribute on behalf of the Government of India at the funeral of the Queen to be held in London from 17 to 19 September. Queen Elizabeth II died on 8 September. President, Vice President, and Prime Minister paid tribute to him and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had come to the British High Commission on 12 September to pay tribute. India had also declared a day of state mourning on Sunday 11 September.
