Maharashtra: Five girls drowned in Bhatghar Dam in Bhor Taluka of Pune district on Thursday. 4 bodies were recovered, and a search operation is underway, news agency ANI quoted Police as saying.

An anti-encroachment drive scheduled to take place in northwest Delhi's Sultanpuri area was cancelled on Thursday due to unavailability of adequate police force, civic authorities said.
According to a North Delhi Municipal Corporation official, the drive to remove temporary and permanent encroachment from roads and government land was scheduled at Sultanpuri's Jagdamba market.
"The anti-encroachment drive was scheduled to be carried out in Jagdamba Market area of Sultanpuri for Thursday but it did not take place as we could not get adequate police force," the official told PTI.
The official said an encroachment removal drive was cancelled on Wednesday too at Sultanpuri's Fish Market area due to unavailability of police force.

A Parliamentary Committee of Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday in the Parliament for the consideration of 'The Mediation Bill, 2021' which aims at promoting and facilitating mediation, especially institutional mediation. In December 2021, the Central government introduced the 'Mediation Bill, 2021' in Rajya Sabha for its further consideration into Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law and Justice on the demand of the Opposition parties. The Bill also sought resolution of disputes, commercial or otherwise, enforce mediated settlement agreements, provided for a body for registration of mediators. The purpose of the Bill is to encourage community mediation and to make online mediation as acceptable and cost effective process.
The Assam government Wednesday signed an agreement with regional carrier FlyBig Airline to transport stranded passengers in the Barak Valley, which has been disconnected with the rest of the state due to flood and landslides, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
After chairing a meeting of the state cabinet, Sarma said at a press conference that an MoU has been signed with the airline to run special flights between Silchar and Guwahati at a fixed rate of Rs 3,000 per ticket.
"They will operate these flights for the next 10 days and we hope that everyday 70-100 stranded passengers will avail the service. The additional cost will be taken care of by the government as subsidy to the airline," he said.
In the wake of the inclement weather across several parts of the northeast, the cost of flight tickets soared to around Rs 30,000 a seat between Silchar and Guwahati instead of the usual Rs 3,000 fare.
The Supreme Court will resume its hearing in the Gyanvapi mosque case today on a petition challenging the Varanasi civil court-mandated survey of the mosque. A two judge bench comprising Justices D Y Chandrachud and P S Narasimha will hear the matter. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court had directed a Varanasi district magistrate to ensure the safety of the area where a ‘shivling’ was found in the mosque complex without causing any hindrance to the Muslim community’s right to worship.

PM Modi To Address Yuva Shivir
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a 'Yuva Shivir' in Gujarat's Vadodara today at 10:30 am via video conferencing. The programme is being organised by the Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Kundaldham and Shree Swaminarayan Temple Karelibaug.

Supreme Court, Varanasi Mosque To Resume Hearing On Gyanvapi Mosque Case
Hearings in the Gyanvapi Mosque case by Supreme Court and Varanasi Court will be resumed today. On Tuesday, the Varanasi Court had dismissed Ajay Kumar Mishra as the court commissioner appointed for the survey of the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri complex while the remaining two commissioners were given two days of time to file the survey report.
The commission tasked with a videography survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex, who were directed to submit their report on Tuesday, had sought additional time to submit the same.
