Top brass of the Indian Army will chair high-level meetings starting Monday, October 24 to discuss ways to deal with heightened activities by China and Pakistan at the borders, news agency ANI reported.
"The Army commanders' conference would start deliberations on the present situation along the Northern borders with China and the Pakistan Army actions in support of terror groups on the western front," government sources told ANI.
Delhi's Saket Court has dismissed JNU student Sharjeel Imam's bail plea, in a case related to alleged inflammatory and instigating speeches during the protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro has been appointed as the national vice president of the Trinamool Congress, an official statement said on Friday.
The appointment was made by the party's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
"In a political career spanning four decades, the former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro has worked ardently towards the development of people. We have full faith that under his able guidance AITC will reach greater heights and continue the fight to protect every Indian citizen," the statement said.
Faleiro, who resigned as a Congress MLA last month, has been the West Bengal-based party's biggest catch yet, ever since the Trinamool has re-focussed its attention on Goa for the 2022 Assembly polls.
The party faced humiliating defeats in the 2012 Assembly polls and the 2014 general elections.

The reason for the address is unknown but speculations are rife that it would be related to Jammu and Kashmir civilian killings or related to Covid vaccine for children.

Later while speaking via video conferencing after inaugurating a new building at AIIMS Campus in New Delhi, PM Modi said, "This day of October 21, 2021, has been recorded in history. India has crossed the 100 crore vaccine doses mark sometime back. To combat the biggest pandemic in 100 years, the country now has a strong protective shield of 100 crore vaccine doses. This achievement belongs to India, every citizen of India."
