The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday announced that it will mandatory for all international passengers coming to India to have a Negative RT-PCR test report.

Ahead of Kushinagar visit, PM Modi addressed the joint conference of the CVC and CBI. PM Modi said, "Today the nation also believes that however strong be the people who deceive the nation and loot the people, no mercy is shown to them - wherever they may be. Government doesn't spare them."
PM Modi further said, "The manner in which govts used to run earlier, in which the system functioned earlier, they lacked both political & administrative willpower. Today there's a political will to come down heavily on corruption; continuous improvement also being made to the administrative level."
The inauguration of Kushinagar Airport is expected to enhance tourism in the city by 20 %.

The city witnessed a decline in a number of tourists in 2020 as India was hit by the Covid 19 pandemic.

Alleging that a "deep-rooted conspiracy" to defame the farmers' protest is behind the Singhu border killing, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said the state government would reach the bottom of the case to identify the "conspirators".
"There appeared to be a deep-rooted conspiracy to defame the farmers' stir. The government will reach to the bottom of the case and identify and expose as who were the conspirators behind the incident," Mr Randhawa said in the statement issued by this office on Tuesday.
"Lakhbir Singh, the Dalit victim belonged to village Cheema Kalan and was very poor. We need to find out as who lured him to Singhu border and who paid for his travel as he could not even afford his meals," the Deputy Chief Minister observed while adding that he had instructed the local administration to find out under what circumstances he was taken away from his home in Cheema Kalan village to Singhu border.

Harvard extended Ms Gopinath's leave of absence by one year, which allowed her to serve at the IMF for three years, the statement said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s 29th international and UP’s third international airport in Kushinagar today in the presence of Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and a 125-member delegation. Kushinagar is the place where Gautam Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. The grand inauguration ceremony, which is being seen as a major conduit in the Buddhist circuit to boost tourist inflow, will also be attended by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a host of dignitaries, including ambassadors of around 15 countries to India.
The IMD on Tuesday issued an Orange alert for 11 districts of Kerala indicating heavy rainfall. The weatherman has put 12 districts in the state on Orange alert on Thursday also. The IMD sounded an Orange alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts on October 20. In addition, an Orange alert was issued for all districts other than Kannur and Kasaragod on October 21.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case on Tuesday released pictures of six people standing near an SUV, which was set ablaze during the October 3 incident.
It has assured that details of those giving information will not be revealed besides informers will be given due rewards.
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh had set up the SIT to investigate the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed.
"The SIT team probing the October 3 violence has got some photos and videos. We are releasing photographs and appeal to people to identify them," an SIT official said.
"Six photographs have been released for identification," he said.
The SIT has already issued notices to over three dozen farmers for questioning in a case related to the lynching of BJP workers.
Two FIRs were registered at the Tikonia police station after eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the violence. In the first FIR, MoS Ajay Mishra's son Ashish was named as accused besides 15 to 20 unidentified persons.
Another FIR was lodged at the same police station on the basis of a complaint by Sumit Jaiswal, who has now been arrested.
In the complaint, Jaiswal, a resident of Ayodhyapuri here, identified himself as a BJP worker who was on his way to welcome Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya for a wrestling event at Banbirpur, when the violence broke out.
So far, 10 people, including the MoS' son Ashish Mishra, have been arrested in the case.
