A major fire broke out in a ground-plus-one-storey industrial estate in the Dahisar area of Mumbai, a fire official said on Sunday, as reported by the news agency PTI. No one was injured in the incident which took place at 11.10 pm on Saturday in the building located in Vardhaman Industrial Cooperative Society of the northern suburb, he said.
It was a "level-2" blaze and was doused by 6.10 am on Sunday, the official said. Seven fire engines, six jumbo tankers, one water tanker, an ambulance, and other assistance were rushed to the spot after the blaze erupted, he said.
The fire was confined to three-four 'galas' (units) on the ground and first floors of the structure, the official said, adding three hose lines were in operation, PTI reported.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred in Assam's Dhubri district in the early hours of Sunday, an official statement said. National Center for Seismology said that the earthquake occurred at 3:01 am at a depth of 17 Km.

PM Modi To Lay Foundation, Launch Infra Projects In Telangana Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,500 crore and address a public meeting in Mahabubnagar district in Telangana on October 1.
At around 2:15 PM on Sunday, the Prime minister will reach Mahabubnagar district, where he will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth Rs 13,545 crore, in important sectors such as road, rail, petroleum and natural gas and higher education, a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of key road projects that are part of Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor, including the 108 km long four-lane access controlled greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G and 90 km-long four lane access controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G.
These road projects will be developed at a total cost of about Rs 6,400 crore, the statement said. Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate to nation a road project - four-laning of 59 km long Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB. Built at a cost of about Rs. 2,460 crore, the project is a part of Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Corridor and is developed under Bharatmala Pariyojana.
BJP CEC Meet To Finalise Candidates For Assembly Polls To Be Held Today
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said the meeting of its Central Election Committee (CEC), which was scheduled to be held over two days, on September 30 and October 1, will now be held on a single day on October 1, as reported by the news agency ANI, citing party sources.
At the meeting, the BJP is likely to make key decisions pertaining to the upcoming state assembly elections in five states. The meeting will largely deliberate on the upcoming state elections in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, ANI reported. The polls are scheduled to be held towards the end of this year.
