A Pakistani national, Kala Massi, who had entered India illegally was repatriated through the Attari-Wagah border on Tuesday after he served a jail term of 10 years, confirmed Protocol Officer Arunpal, reported news agency ANI. 


Speaking to the news agency, the official said that the Pakistani national who has been released from prison after completion of the jail term is Kala Massi. Arunpal said that Kala Massi belonged to Pakistan's Narowal region. He said that Kala Massi entered India through the Ramdass area in 2011 without a passport and visa. He further stated that he was rounded up in Majitha and a pistol and cartridge were recovered from him. According to Arunpal, the court had sentenced him to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rs 2,10,000 was imposed on him.

4th Edition Of Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue To Begin In Delhi


The fourth edition of the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD), an apex-level international annual conference of the Indian Navy, is all set to begin on Wednesday.


The IPRD seeks to foster the exchange of ideas and promote deliberations on regionally relevant maritime issues.


The theme of IPRD-2022 is "Operationalising the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI)", which was articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 14th East Asia Summit (EAS) in Bangkok on November 4, 2019, the defense ministry said in a statement.


The IPRD is an apex-level international annual conference of the Navy and the principal manifestation of the Navy's engagement at the strategic level.


The National Maritime Foundation (NMF) is the Navy's knowledge partner and chief organiser of each edition of the event.


Priyanka Gandhi To Join 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' As It Enters MP


Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will join the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Wednesday when it enters Madhya Pradesh, senior party leader Jairam Ramesh said.


This is the first time that Priyanka Gandhi, general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, will be joining the yatra.


In a tweet, Ramesh said Tuesday was a rest day for the Yatra which will resume on Wednesday when it will enter Madhya Pradesh near Burhanpur.


"Priyanka Gandhi will join the Yatra there and participate for four days," the Congress general secretary in-charge communications said in his tweet in Hindi.


Former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with other party leaders and workers, began the cross-country Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7.


It has traversed through the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra so far.
