The US Department of Treasury on Friday removed India along with Italy, Mexico, Thailand and Vietnam from its Currency Monitoring List. China, Japan, Korea, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan are the seven economies that are a part of the current monitoring list, the Department of Treasury said in its biannual report to the Congress.

The BJP on Friday attacked the AAP after it announced 10 promises for the MCD polls, saying that those who have warrants issued in their names cannot give guarantees.
Addressing a press conference here, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said those who guaranteed an honest government in Delhi "changed 140 mobile phones costing Rs 1.2 crore to destroy evidence related to the excise policy scam".

PM Modi To Inaugurate Terminal-2 Of Bengaluru Airport
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Terminal-2 of the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru on Friday.
Spanning across an area of 2,55,645 square metres, this Rs 5000 crore initiative has incorporated the concept of a "terminal-in-a-garden", which is the first of its kind.
As per reports, the T-2 in its first phase will have 22 contact gates, 15 bus gates, 95 check-in solutions and 17 security check lanes.
Apart from that, the new terminal will have nine customs hand baggage screening facility and the gate lounge will have a seating capacity of 5,932.
"T-2 is designed in a manner that we retain the philosophy of simplicity and minimal walking distances for the passengers a key characteristic of the KIA. With the use of a combination of the latest in construction technology and natural material, this terminal will establish a new vision for sustainable growth," PTI quoted a KIA official as saying.
SC To Set Up Bench To Hear Gyanvapi-Kashi Vishwanath Case
The Supreme Court agreed to set up a bench on Friday to hear the Gyanvapi-Kashi Vishwanath case in which the Hindu side has sought an extension of an order by which protection of an area where a "Shivling" was found in Gyanvapi premises was ordered.
A bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud on Thursday took note of the submissions of advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, appearing for some Hindu devotees, that the May 17 order of the apex court granting protection was expiring on November 12 and it needed to extended.
"We will constitute a bench at 3 pm tomorrow," the CJI said.
While mentioning the plea for an urgent hearing, Jain said the order protecting the area would be expiring.
On being inquired about the fate of the plea of the mosque committee challenging the maintainability of petition of Hindu devotees, the lawyer said the trial court had rejected it and an appeal is pending in the Allahabad High Court.
On May 17, the top court passed an interim order directing the district magistrate of Varanasi to ensure protection of the area inside the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri complex where a 'Shivling' was said to be found in the survey.
