Civilian Shot Dead By Terrorists In J&K's Anantnag, Say Police

A civilian working at an amusement park was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag, say police, reports ANI. 


Terrorists fired upon a civilian named Deepu from Udhampur working at an amusement park near Janglaat Mandi in Anantnag. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Case is registered and investigation is going on, the police said.

After Getting New Passport, Rahul Gandhi All-Set To Fly To US Today: 


Congress leader Rahul Gandhi received a new ordinary passport on Sunday, two days after a Delhi court granted him permission, news agency PTI reported citing sources. 


The former Congress president, who applied for an ordinary passport after surrendering the old diplomatic passport issued to him as a member of parliament, is scheduled to travel to San Francisco, California, on Monday evening as part of a three-city tour. Rahul Gandhi was disqualified as an MP in March following his conviction and two-year sentence in a defamation case over his Modi surname remark in a Gujarat court.


According to the report, the passport office assured Gandhi in the morning that the passport would be issued to him on Sunday, and he received it that afternoon.


Congress Chief Kharge To Meet Gehlot, Pilot In Delhi Today: 


Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will meet separately with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his adversary Sachin Pilot on Monday in Delhi, PTI reported citing a senior party leader familiar with the situation.


The chief minister's office has also confirmed Gehlot's visit to Delhi, where he will also lay the foundation stone for the Rajasthan House.


The proposed meeting follows Pilot's "ultimatum" that if three demands from the state government were not met by the end of this month, he would launch a state-wide agitation. One of Pilot's demands is for a high-level investigation into alleged scams that occurred during the tenure of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's government.


PM Modi To Flag Off NE's First Vande Bharat Express Today: 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat Express connecting the North East region on Monday.


The train will be virtually flagged off by Modi at 12 noon when it departs from Guwahati railway station, according to an official release issued here on Sunday. When compared to the current fastest train connecting the two cities, the train between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri will save about an hour of travel time.


The Vande Bharat Express will complete the journey in 5 hours and 30 minutes, while the current fastest train takes 6 hours and 30 minutes.
