AAP Leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi To Be Sworn In As Ministers On Thursday:
AAP MLAs Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi will be sworn in as ministers by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Thursday, news agency PTI reported citing sources.
Following the resignations of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and minister Satyendar Jain, who are both currently imprisoned in Tihar for alleged corruption and money laundering, two Cabinet vacancies arose.
President Droupadi Murmu accepted Sisodia and Jain's resignations and appointed Bharadwaj and Atishi as ministers in the Delhi government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Following a recommendation from Kejriwal, Saxena recommended the names of Atishi and Bharadwaj to President Murmu for appointment as ministers in the Cabinet.
Nepal To Elect New President Today:
Nepal will elect a new president on Thursday, with Ram Chandra Poudel of the Nepali Congress and Subash Chandra Nembang of the CPN-UML vying for the position, with the outcome potentially affecting the stability of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda's" government.
On Wednesday, Nepal's Election Commission announced that all preparations for the big-ticket election had been completed.
The presidential election pits two former House Speakers against each other: Paudel, backed by the eight-party alliance led by Prime Minister Prachanda, and CPN-UML's Nembang.
Paudel, 78, and Nembang, 69, both filed nomination papers last month.
PM Modi, Australian PM Anthony Albanese To Watch Test Match On March 9:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese will attend the first day of the fourth Test between Australia and India on March 9 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, news agency PTI reported citing an official.
Since a large number of spectators are expected at the final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Ahmedabad police have deployed more than 3,000 cops to guard the stadium and surrounding areas in the city, according to Neeraj Badgujar, additional commissioner of police, sector 1.
