Ed added that the raid was conducted to investigate anomalies in the captive coal consumption case.

Quad Foreign Ministers To Meet In Delhi, Discuss Indo-Pacific Developments


Quad Foreign Ministers will meet on Friday, March 3 in New Delhi, the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday, March 2, news agency ANI reported. India will host the meeting.


Union Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar will chair the meeting, which will witness the participation of foreign ministers of Australia and Japan, and the Secretary of State of the United States.


The foreign ministers will also exchange views on recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region and discuss regional issues of mutual interest, “guided by their vision of a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific”, the MEA announced.


According to the MEA, the ministers will also review progress made by the Quad in pursuit of its constructive agenda and implementation of initiatives aimed at addressing contemporary priorities of the Indo-Pacific region.


The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD), which is a strategic security dialogue between Australia, India, Japan and the United States, and is maintained by talks between the member countries, is commonly referred to as Quad.


Meghalaya CM Likely To Meet Governor To Stake Claim To Form Govt


Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is likely to meet with state Governor Phagu Chauhan on Friday morning to claim the right to form the next government, said officials on Thursday. 


According to the official, Sangma, who is also the president of the ruling NPP, will meet the governor on Friday at 11:30 a.m. to inform him of the results of the assembly election.


"The MLAs of NPP and other allies will also accompany him. They will stake claim to form the next government." Sangma will give a speech at a press conference prior to meeting the Governor.


On Thursday, the National People's Party (NPP) won 26 of the 59 constituencies that went to the polls on February 27 and became the state's largest party.


Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Sangma sought the support of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in forming the new government as the party fell short of the magic number of 31 in the 60-member assembly.
