Congress' Maharashtra observer Kamal Nath has claimed that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has tested positive for Covid-19, according to ABP News sources. Thackeray was scheduled to hold a cabinet meeting at 1 pm today and to interact with MLAs at 5pm in the evening amid the political crisis in the state.,
He is also supposed to meet NCP Chief Sharad Pawar today. Maharashtra CM Office has not confirmed the news yet.
Forty Maharashtra MLAs including 33 Shiv Sena and seven independent MLAs exhorted their support to rebel Shiv Sena leader and state Cabinet Minister Eknath Shinde by signing a letter, said sources to ANI.
They further said the rebel legislators may write to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari seeking for floor test in the state Legislative Assembly. The 40 MLAs led by Shinde arrived at a luxury hotel in Guwahati in BJP-ruled Assam on Wednesday.

EAM Jaishankar Begins 4-Day Visit To Kigali
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will be on a four-day visit to Rwanda's capital Kigali from Wednesday to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Jaishankar will represent Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Commonwealth Summit on June 24-25.
“S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister (EAM), will be visiting Kigali from June 22 to 25 to attend the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). EAM will be leading the Indian delegation to the CHOGM, which had earlier been postponed twice due to COVID-19 pandemic,” the MEA said.
Mumbra Police Summon Nupur Sharma Over Remarks On Prophet Muhammad
The Mumbra Police has summoned suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her controversial remarks made against Prophet Muhammad during a TV debate. The police called Sharma on June 22 to record her statement over her derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad and the Muslim community, news agency ANI reported.
Sharma's comments, made during a TV debate nearly 10 days ago, and Jindal's now-deleted tweets sparked a Twitter trend calling for a boycott of Indian products in some countries.
After the action, Sharma unconditionally withdrew her controversial statement and claimed that her comments were a reaction to "continuous insult and disrespect towards our Mahadev (Lord Shiva)”.
