SC Directs NTA To Declare Centre-Wise Marks Of NEET-UG Candidates By July 20 While Masking Their Identity

The Supreme Court directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday to declare the centre and city-wise results of controversy-ridden NEET-UG 2024 by noon of July 20 while masking the identities of the aspirants, saying it wanted to ascertain whether candidates appearing at allegedly tainted centres scored more marks than those elsewhere.

A bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud addressed the allegations of malpractices in the May 5 examination's conduct, noting that any order to conduct it again must be based on a clear finding that the alleged leak was "systemic" and compromised the integrity of the entire process.

“We direct the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students at the UG-2024 NEET examination, while, at the same time, without disclosing the identity of the students. The result should be declared city and centre wise by 12 noon on July 20, 2024 and shall be uploaded on the website of the NTA,” the bench, also comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said, PTI reported.

36 Crore Saplings Will Be Planted Across UP On Saturday, Adityanath To Attend Function In Lucknow

Approximately 36.46 crore saplings will be planted on Saturday across Uttar Pradesh as part of the state government's initiative to increase the green cover. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will kick off the campaign by planting saplings in the state capital, Lucknow.

The chief minister is likely to inaugurate the 'Ped Lagao, Ped Bachao Jan Abhiyan - 2024' by planting saplings in the Akbarnagar area of Lucknow, which has been cleared of unauthorized encroachments to revive the Kukrail river, an official stated on Friday.

Strong measures will be implemented to ensure the safety of the plants, including geo-tagging the planting sites, the official added.

"The people of the state will come forward to face the environmental challenge by becoming a part of this sacred campaign of plantation amid the ongoing Van Mahotsav," Adityanath told PTI.
