Breaking News LIVE: 30 Injured As Bus Falls Into Ditch In MP's Chitrakoot

A passenger was killed while 30 others were injured when a private bus overturned and fell into a ditch in the Rajpur area of the district on Friday afternoon, police said.


The Circle Officer (CO) of the area Shivprakash Sonkar said the bus overturned and fell into the ditch at a turn near Kusaili village.


"A passenger of the bus was killed. The deceased is yet to be identified. 30 other passengers in the bus sustained injuries," the CO said.


The 30 injured have been admitted to a hospital where the condition of the eight is said to be critical. (PTI)

Supreme Court To Hear Pleas Against Agnipath Scheme


The Supreme Court will hear the petitions filed against the Agnipath scheme for army recruitment. A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice AS Bopanna will hear the matter. The petition filed against the scheme said that people who have been waiting for an appointment in the Air Force for two years fear that their 20-year career will be reduced to four years.


It has been further said in this petition that in the year 2017, more than 70 thousand students were given training. After the training, the students were assured that appointment letters would be issued, but now with the introduction of this scheme, the careers of those students are at stake.


Rajnath Singh To Inaugurate P17A Stealth Frigate In Kolkata


Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will launch the second P17A 'stealth frigate' to strengthen the maritime capabilities of the Indian Navy. A senior official gave this information on Saturday.


Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has built this warship, which is equipped with modern equipment. GRSE was awarded the contract to build three 'stealth frigates' under Project 17A.


"Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will launch the ship on July 15 at the GRSE Main Complex here on the bank of Hooghly river," the GRSE official told journalists.


The first P17A 'stealth frigate' was commissioned in December 2020 by Madhulika Rawat, wife of the then Chief of Defense Staff, Bipin Rawat.
