Urinating Incident: Two Air India Crew Members Likely To Join Probe

According to sources quoted by news agency PTI, two crew members from an Air India flight where a man is accused of urinating on a co-passenger who is an elderly woman are likely to join the police investigation on Monday.

Sources said on Sunday that the police are also trying to talk to other people who were on the flight to get their statements.

Seven of the flight's crew members have already recorded their statements after the Delhi Police summoned nine of them. They stated that the remaining two are anticipated to join the investigation on Monday, despite being asked to appear before police on Sunday.

According to additional sources, the police are also attempting to speak with other passengers on the flight for their statements.

The police stated that the crew members' statements will assist them in determining the order of events.

The accused, Shankar Mishra, allegedly urinated on a co-passenger in the business class of an Air India flight from New York to Delhi on November 26, 2013, according to police.

HC Order On Kochhars' Pleas Challenging Their Arrest In Loan Fraud Case

The applications of former ICICI Bank CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar and her businessman-husband Deepak Kochhar, challenging their arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an alleged loan fraud case, were heard by the prosecution and defense on Friday. The Bombay High Court reserved its verdict, which will be delivered on Monday, reported PTI.

The CBI arrested the Kochhars and Videocon group founder Venugopal Dhoot late last month for their alleged roles in the case. The trio is currently in judicial custody in jail.

Because no sanction was obtained prior to the CBI action, as required by the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), the Kochhar couple has referred to their arrest as "illegal."

Senior advocate Amit Desai and attorney Kushal Mor argued on Chanda Kochhar's behalf that she was arrested following a "perfunctory interrogation." He argued that Chanda Kochhar was unaware of the business operations of her husband. Desai added that the former ICICI Bank chief was arrested by a male officer and that the relevant memo does not show the presence of a female officer, as required by law.
