Amit Shah To Hold Key Meetings In Telangana On Jan 28
The Bharatiya Janata Party is set to begin its preparations in Telangana for the Lok Sabha elections with Union Home Minister Amit Shah attending three key meetings at Hyderabad, Karimnagar and Mahabubnagar on Sunday.
The Home Minister would attend the election management committee meeting of Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha constituency at 1.30 PM, followed by a polling booth committee meeting of Karimnagar at 4 PM and a convention of professionals of Secunderabad constituency at 6 PM in Hyderabad, PTI reported, citing BJP sources. The Mahabubnagar event would be a closed-door event, they said.
Shah had set a target for the party to win at least 10 seats and secure a 35 per cent vote share in Telangana in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP had won Secunderabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Adilabad constituencies out of the total 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in the 2019 polls. In the recent Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, the BJP won eight out of the total 119 seats.
Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra To Resume On Jan 28 From Jalpaiguri: Cong
The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will resume on Sunday its padyatra in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri. The grand old party is set to resume its march after a pre-planned break after 12 continuous days.
In a post on X, Ramesh said, "After 12 continuous days in Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Cooch Behar in West Bengal, the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has taken a pre-planned break from the afternoon of January 25th." "The yatra will resume at 1400hrs on January 28th with a padyatra in Jalpaiguri, followed by a padyatra in Siliguri and a public address there. The night halt is at Sonapur in Uttar Dinajpur district," he said.
Gandhi is undertaking the over 6,700-km Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai. The Yatra is currently going through West Bengal.
