Toddler Attacked By Pit Bull In Delhi, Receives Multiple Fractures, Stitches

A one-and-a-half-year-old girl received three fractures and multiple stitches on her body in an alleged dog attack in north Delhi's Burari area here, police said on Friday.


According to news agency PTI, the incident occurred on January 2 when a pit bull allegedly attacked the girl outside their house in C Block of Burari. The girl and her grandfather Jageshwar Mehta were out for a walk when the dog attacked the child.


The dog owner had not held on to the leash properly when the pit bull attacked, Mehta told PTI. The dog belonged to Pramod Vishwakarma's son Ujjwal, he said.


 

5 Including Wife Of Kerala Congress MLA Booked For Financial Fraud

A case has been registered against five individuals, including Congress MLA T Siddique's wife in an alleged financial fraud case, as reported by news agency PTI.


The case was registered following a complaint from a 62-year-old woman against a financial institution, a partnership firm under the Nidhi mutual benefit financial company, where the legislator's wife Sharafunnisa served as the branch manager. However, Siddique denied the allegations in a press meet on Friday.The prime accused in the case is the founder and managing director of the company, Waseem Thondikodan.

5 lakh laddus weighing 250 quintals set to leave Ujjain for Ayodhya on Friday 


Four lakh laddus have already been packed and one lakh more are being put in packets at the revered Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain to be sent on Friday to Ayodhya for the consecration of the grand Ram temple on January 22, a shrine official said on Thursday.


Each of the laddus weighs about 50 grams and the entire consignment will be of 250 quintals, he said. “We have packed four lakh laddus. One lakh are being packed today. They will be off to Ayodhya in three to four trucks on Friday,” the Mahakaleshwar Temple assistant administrator Moolchand Junwal told PTI over the phone.


Dense Fog Likely In Delhi On Friday Morning


There is a possibility of dense fog on Friday morning and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in Delhi, as reported by news agency PTI.


The weather department has issued a "yellow alert" for dense fog in the national capital and adjoining areas for the next two days.


On Thursday, residents in the national capital woke up to another foggy morning as the minimum temperature settled at 6.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.


PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stones Of 8 AMRUT Projects In Maharashtra On January 19 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate or lay the foundation stones of several development projects at Solapur in Maharashtra on January 19, an official release said.


At a public program to be held around 10.45 am in the southern Maharashtra city, he will lay the foundation stones of eight AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects in the state worth around Rs 2,000 crore, it said. He will also dedicate more than 90,000 houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
