Gunfight Breaks Out Between Security Forces And Terrorists At J&K's Kulgam District

An encounter started between terrorists and security forces in Pariwan area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday, offficial sources told news agency IANS. 


The firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.

As the Assembly Elections 2022 draws near, political parties and leaders are making full-throttle efforts to woo voters. While party's are finalising their candidates for various states, some leaders are shifting their bases and pledging under new allegiance.


In Uttar Pradesh, BJP and Yogi Adityanath got jolted as a minister and four MLAs quit the party and joined Akhilesh Yadav's SP. Swami Prasad Maurya, a top minister in the Yogi government, posted his resignation letter on Twitter and joined SP. Later four more MLAs close to him - Roshan Lal Verma, Brijesh Prajapati, Bhagwati Sagar, and Vinay Shakya - announced their resignations.


In Goa, former BJP leader Michael Lobo along with his wife Delilah on Tuesday joined Congress, a day after resigning from the Goa cabinet and quitting the saffron party.


Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the two-day 25th National Youth Festival to be hosted by Puducherry and will also be will inaugurating 11 New Government Medical Colleges across Tamil Nadu and the new campus of Central Institute of Classical Tamil in Chennai at 4 PM via video conferencing.
