India on Saturday dismissed as "factually incorrect" media reports claiming that New Delhi had supplied a water cannon vehicle to Sri Lanka under its USD 1 billion credit line, and reiterated that such campaigns don't make any "constructive contribution" to the cooperation and efforts to address the ongoing challenges faced by Sri Lankans.
These reports are factually incorrect. No water cannon vehicles have been supplied by India under any of the credit lines extended by India, the Indian High Commission here said in a tweet.

IMD Warns Of Fresh Heatwave In Northwest, Central India From May 7
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Thursday that a new heat wave will likely begin on May 7 and 8 in northwest and central India.
The Met Department said in its latest advisory that heatwave conditions will be present over central Maharashtra on Thursday (May 5) and will persist throughout Rajasthan between May 7 and 9. The heatwave will continue on May 8 and 9 across south Haryana, southwest Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha (in Maharashtra), and Delhi.
West Bengal Govt Asks Private Schools To Stop Offline Classes From May 7
Due to the extreme summer conditions, the West Bengal government has asked all private schools in the state to stop holding offline classes on May 7 and switch to an online mode, a school education department official said on Friday.
Manish Jain, the Principal Secretary to the Department of School Education, has ordered private schools to hold online classes if they do not want to advance their vacation time from May 2 as indicated in an April department notice.
"The private schools should not conduct in-person classes in school buildings now in the interest of students as they are falling sick in the extreme heat conditions. Also they should not take any unilateral decision against the statement of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on this issue," the official quoted Jain as saying at a meeting with private about 30 schools' authorities here.
PNB Hikes Interest Rates On Term Deposits From May 7
The repo-linked lending rate (RLLR) for existing clients was raised from 6.5 percent to 6.9 percent on June 1 by the state-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB).
For new users, the modified RLLR will take effect on May 7. The Bank has increased interest rates on term deposits in some buckets by up to 60 basis points as of tomorrow.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) suddenly boosted key policy rates by 40 basis points, prompting the RLLR increase (bps). The Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) was also increased by 50 basis points.
