The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Ministry of Home Affairs proposal to continue the implementation of the Umbrella Scheme on 'Safety of Women'. This approval entails a total expenditure of Rs. 1179.72 crore spanning the period from 2021-22 to 2025-26. Of this allocation, MHA will contribute Rs. 885.49 crore from its own budget, while the remaining Rs. 294.23 crore will be sourced from the Nirbhaya Fund.
A devastating accident occurred in Uttarakhand, claiming the lives of at least six individuals. The incident transpired when a car, on its way from Mori area of Uttarkashi district to Dehradun, veered off the road and plummeted into a gorge near the Nainbagh Yamuna Bridge in Tehri.

Income Tax Department yesterday recovered Rs 65 crore from the account of the Indian National Congress out of the total outstanding tax dues of Rs 115 crore. The Congress party has today approached the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) against the recovery and has filed a complaint. In the complaint, the Congress said the Income Tax Department has enforced its lein by encashing some of the balances lying with the banks without waiting for the outcome of the hearing scheduled before the bench. Congress appealed that the department should not proceed further till the disposal of the stay application. ITAT has directed that the status quo be maintained till the matter is heard. The matter has been listed for 2:30 pm today.

Commuters Advised To Avoid Several Roads In Central Delhi Today:
The Delhi Police has asked commuters to avoid several roads in the central parts of the city on Wednesday due to special traffic arrangements.
In a post on X, the police said, "On 21-02-24, due to special traffic arrangements kindly avoid IP Marg in both the carriageways from IP Flyover towards A-point and vice-versa, ITO Chowk, DDU Marg, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, Shanti Van crossing and Rajghat crossing from 9.30 am to 11.30 am."
Traffic Diversions In Greater Noida On Wednesday:
The local police have warned commuters in Greater Noida that traffic may be diverted on Wednesday due to a protest march called by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait), news agency PTI reported.
As per the report, the farmers have planned to congregate at the Knowledge Park metro station with tractors and private vehicles. According to police, they will then march through the India Expo Mart, Sharda University, the LG roundabout, and the Moser Bear roundabout before arriving at the Collectorate in Surajpur.
Police said that in light of the situation and to ensure smooth traffic movement, diversions may be placed from Galgotia Cut, Pari Chowk, LG Roundabout, Moser Bear Roundabout, Durga Talkies Roundabout, and Surajpur Chowk.
PM Modi To Inaugurate Raisina Dialogue Today:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the three-day Raisina Dialogue, India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geostrategy. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is organising the event in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
The ninth edition of the Dialogue will last until February 23.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Dialogue on February 21." The Chief Guest for the inaugural session will be Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic (Greece), who will deliver the keynote address, according to the MEA.
The Raisina Dialogue will be attended by representatives from over 100 countries, including ministers, former heads of state and government, military commanders, industry captains, technology leaders, academics, and strategic affairs scholars.
"Chaturanga: Conflict, Contest, Cooperate, Create" is the theme of the 2024 edition.
The MEA stated that over the course of three days, world decision makers and thought leaders will engage in conversations in a variety of formats.
