'Jammu's Demography Has Changed': PDP Chief & Former CM Mehbooba Mufti At Jammu

PDP Chief and former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on February 19 slammed BJP Government saying the demography of Jammu has already changed. “They want to form BJP Rashtra. We used to say that demography of Kashmir will change. But the demography of Jammu has already changed,” said Mehbooba Mufti. “Where are the Dogras? Why isn't our Governor (LG) from the Dogra community? Why aren't those at important posts like DG and SP from the Dogra community?,” she asked, criticising the BJP government for failing to represent Jammu residents in key decision-making positions. Traffic Restrictions To Be Imposed In Delhi's Connaught Place On Sunday Ahead Of 'Raahgiri Day':


Traffic will be restricted on the Inner Circle of Connaught Place for three hours on Sunday morning in honour of "Raahgiri Day," news agency PTI reported quoting the police statement. 


On that day, Connaught Place's streets will be converted into a car-free zone, allowing locals to participate in a variety of activities such as yoga classes, Zumba, sports zones, games, music, dancing, and even educational programmes on topics such as road safety, walkability, and women's safety.


According to a Friday alert, the Delhi Police and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will hold the first of several Raahgiri Days in Connaught Place Inner Circle from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday.


It is part of the Delhi Police Week celebrations-2023, which will take place from February 16 to 22, and corresponds with the G-20 goal of establishing sustainable and liveable cities, with a focus on sustainable mobility, according to the announcement.


This event is likely to be well-attended. According to the advise, traffic congestion may occur owing to heavy vehicular load on Outer Circle at Connaught Place in such a scenario.


Phase-III Of Sagar Parikrama Covering Gujarat-Maharashtra Coastal Districts To Kickstart Today: 


The government announced on Saturday that the third phase of the 'Sagar Parikrama,' which would span coastal areas in Gujarat and Maharashtra, will begin on Sunday. Certificates/sanctions relating to the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), Kisan Credit Card, and state programmes will be awarded to progressive fishermen, particularly coastal fishermen, throughout the three-day tour, it said. According to the Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Ministry, the third phase of the 'Sagar Parikrama' programme would commence on Sunday in Surat, Hazira Port, Gujarat, with a media interaction, followed by a voyage to the Maharashtra coastal area.


Himachal CM Sukhu To Open International Shivratri Fair On Sunday:


Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will open the seven-day International Shivratri Fair in Mandi on February 19, the District Commissioner announced on Saturday, PTI reported.


According to Arindam Chaudhary, the Mandi DM and Chairman of the Mandi Shivratri Mela Committee, 215 hill gods have been invited to the fair this year, with 150 anticipated to attend.


On Friday, Chief Deity Kamrunag, also known as Bada Dev (God of Rains), arrived in Mandi town.
