Firing was reported between BSF and Pakistan Rangers in Anupgarh sector of Rajasthan along the Indo-Pakistan border, PTI reported. However, officials said no casualties were reported.
Police on Friday searched the office, home and other premises linked to Sahara India chief Subrata Roy in Lucknow in connection with a non-bailable warrant issued by a district consumer commission in Bihar, PTI reported. A Sahara statement, however, claimed that the court has stayed the execution of the order.
Police searched for Roy at the Sahara office in Lucknow’s Aliganj area and at other places linked to his company in Gomtinagar but failed to find him, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Qasim Abidi told reporters. He said searches were on at other places in an effort to arrest the businessman.

The Karnataka police have detained a woman, Jyoti who set ablaze her two daughters because of a family dispute in Mulabagilu, Kolar district on Wednesday. Her 6-year-old daughter has succumbed to the burn injuries while another is in hospital.

Heavy Rainfall Predicted In Tamil Nadu Under Influence Of Cylone
Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in districts including Chennai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur and Vellore on December 9 in view of cyclone Mandous.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall as Cyclone Mandous hit the north Tamil Nadu coast between Puducherry and Sriharikota, around Mahabalipuram, on Friday midnight with a wind speed gusting up to 85 km per hour.
A red alert is already issued in Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu and an Orange alert issued for Cuddalore, Myladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Pudukottai districts on December 8.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are kept ready in all district collectorates to face any eventuality.
The IMD said, "Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at most places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal area. Heavy to very heavy rain at a few places with extremely heavy rain at one or two places is likely to occur over Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu and Villupuram districts of Tamilnadu and Puducherry."
"Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Tiruvallur, Chennai, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi and Cuddalore districts of Tamilnadu. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai and Sivaganga districts of Tamilnadu and Karaikal," the IMD said.
Shraddha Murder Case: Aftab To Be Produced Before Delhi Court
Aftab Amin Poonawalla, the accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walker and currently lodged in Tihar Jail, is to be produced before the Saket court on Friday, ANI reported. The Tihar Jail authority has asked its 3rd Battalion to provide special security to the accused Aftab as he will be produced before the concerned judge.
The 28-year-old, who is dismembering Shraddha's body and storing the chopped body parts in a refrigerator before disposing them in the forests of south Delhi's Chhatarpur, is currently in the custody of Delhi Police.
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan To Inaugurate International Film Festival of Kerala
The 27th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala, during which 186 movies from 70 countries will be screened in various theatres here, will commence from Friday with its inauguration by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. After the eight-day film festival is inaugurated by the CM, there will be a screening of the Belgian-French film 'Tori and Lokita' which won the Cannes 75th Anniversary Award this year, state Minister for Culture V N Vasavan said at a press conference held in the media room of the Legislative Assembly here.
The inaugural film, which will have its India premiere, is a refugee drama about two African-born children trying to build a life together on the streets of Belgium.
Besides inaugurating the festival, Vijayan would also be honoring Iranian filmmaker Mahnaz Mohammadi, who is fighting for women's rights in Iran, with the Spirit of Cinema Award, Vasavan said.
