A suspicious bag has been found at the ticket counter of Dadar railway station in Maharashtra. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad is reaching the spot to investigate, said GRP Mumbai.
The Sikkim Police has decided to stop issuing permits to tourists to visit Tsomgo and Nathu-la from Friday as the Himalayan state has been receiving continuous snowfall since December 27. PM Modi To Flag Off Vande Bharat Express, Other Projects In West Bengal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit West Bengal on December 30 where he will flag off Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri from Howrah Railway Station.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the Joka-Taratala stretch of the Purple Line of Kolkata Metro, said the Prime Minister’s Office in a press release.
He will also lay the foundation stone of multiple Railway projects along with laying the foundation stone of the redevelopment of New Jalpaiguri Railway station. The PM will also inaugurate Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee National Institute of Water and Sanitation.
The ultra-modern Semi High Speed Train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities. The train will stop at Malda Town, Barsoi and Kishanganj stations enroute on both the directions, read the PMO statement.
“Passengers of southern parts of the Kolkata City like Sarsuna, Dakghar, Muchipara and South 24 Parganas will be immensely benefited by inauguration of this project,” it said.
Amit Shah To Visit Karnataka Today
With eye on Assembly elections, Union home minister Amit Shah will visit Karnataka on December 30 and 31. On Friday, Amit Shah will launch BJP’s campaign in Mandya as the party looks to make inroads into the Old Mysuru region.
The Mandya district, dominated by Vokkaligas, is a stronghold of the Janata Dal (Secular). The core Old Mysuru region consists of nine districts, Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru, accounting for 61 seats.
“The top leaders are focusing on Karnataka well in advance. We need to strengthen the party in the Old Mysuru region. In the previous elections also, we did not do well here. The focus will be on those areas where we have to put more efforts to win more seats,” said BJP spokesperson S Prakash.
