Breaking News LIVE Updates: BJP MP Pragya Thakur Booked For 'Inflammatory Remark' At Shivamogga Event

A case was registered against Bharatiya Janata Party MP Pragya Singh Thakur on Wednesday for her alleged inflammatory speech at a convention organised in Karnataka's Shivamogga recently by a pro-Hindu outfit, reported PTI.


The case has been registered at the Kote police station, based on a complaint by Shivamogga District Congress Committee president H S Sundaresh, officials said.


On December 25, the MP said Hindus have the right to respond to those who attack them and their dignity as she spoke about the killing of Hindu activists.


Speaking at the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s southern region annual convention here, she had also told the gathering to give a befitting reply to anyone who "infiltrates our house".


"Keep weapons in your homes. If nothing else, at least keep the knives used to cut vegetables sharp.... Don't know what situation will arise when.... Everyone has the right to self-protection. If someone infiltrates our house and attacks us, giving a befitting reply is our right," she said.

Prachanda To Move Into PM's Official Residence 


Nepal's newly elected Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" will move into the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar on Thursday, reported PTI.


After abruptly walking out of the pre-poll alliance led by the Nepali Congress and joining hands with opposition leader K P Sharma Oli, the 68-year-old leader of the CPN-Maoist Centre was sworn in as Prime Minister on Monday, making it the third time he has served as the position.


My Republica newspaper reported that Surya Kiran, a member of the Prime Minister's secretariat, stated that Prachanda would move to the PM's official residence on Thursday afternoon.


Sher Bahadur Deuba, a former prime minister, left the PM's official residence on Wednesday.


The Nepali Congress (NC) leader was supposed to move into a rented house in Dhumbarahi on Thursday, according to Bhanu Deuba, Deuba's chief private secretary. Nevertheless, the plan was prepared.


Because his private residence in Budhanilkantha is undergoing renovations, he moved into a rented residence.


Winter Session of Karnataka Assembly To End Thursday, A Day Ahead Of Schedule


Speaker Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri announced that the winter session of the Karnataka Assembly would be postponed until Thursday, one day before the scheduled date.


The session of the Karnataka Assembly was scheduled to last until December 30 in the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.


Kageri stated to the House, "We had earlier planned till Friday but we discussed with the senior members of the House and decided to wind up tomorrow evening."


He informed the House that the Finance Bill needs to be talked about and approved. In addition, additional discussions will take place.
