Tripura Declares 12% Hike In DA For Govt Employees

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday declared a 12 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners with effect from December 1. With this, the state government employees' DA has gone up from 8 per cent to 20 per cent. "A total of 1,04,600 regular employees and 80,800 pensioners will benefit from the decision. Besides, ... and part-time employees will receive the benefit as their remunerations have been almost doubled", Saha said at a press conference. The chief minister said the decision of the government to increase the DA/DR by 12 per cent will put an additional amount of Rs 120 crore per month and Rs 1,440 crore per annum.

Mother Dairy To Hike Milk Prices In Delhi-NCR From December 27


With effect from Tuesday, Mother Dairy would increase milk prices in the Delhi-NCR market by Rs 2 per litre, citing an increase in input costs.


Mother Dairy, one of the top milk suppliers in Delhi-NCR with volumes of more than 30 million litres per day, has raised milk prices five times this year. Full-cream milk now costs Rs. 2 more per litre at Mother Dairy, at Rs. 66 per litre, while toned milk costs Rs. 53 per litre, up from Rs. 51 per litre.


The price of double-toned milk has gone up to Rs. 47 per litre from Rs. 45. 


"It is an unprecedented year for the dairy industry. We have been witnessing a significant increase in demand of milk and milk products from both consumers and institutions, even after festivals. On the other hand, procurement of raw milk has also not picked up after Diwali as was anticipated," the company said.


Mock Drills On December 27 At Health Facilities In India Amid Covid Scare


Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote to state and union territorial health secretaries on Saturday about holding mock drills on December 27 at all health institutions (including recognised COVID-dedicated health facilities) across the country, news agency ANI posted the letter on Twitter. 


"Taking note of the surge in COVID-19 trajectory in many countries around the world, it is necessary that in all States/UTS requisite public health measures are put in place to meet any exigencies. Preparedness of COVID-19 health facilities is crucial to ensure that States/Districts are in a state of readiness to meet the increase in clinical care needs due to any spurt in cases," the letter read. 


The letter advised that the drill's main focus be on geographically representative availability of health facilities - covering all districts, bed capacities, optimal availability of human resources, human resource capacity, referral services, testing capacities, and medical oxygen availability. 


Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya instructed states and union territories on Friday to conduct a practice drill across all health facilities on December 27 to assess infrastructure readiness, with a particular focus on oxygen plants, ventilators, logistics, and human resources.
