PM Modi To Participate In Birth Centenary Celebrations Of Pramukh Swami Maharaj


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the inaugural function of Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav on Wednesday in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. 


"His life was dedicated to the service of spirituality and humanity. As the leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, he inspired countless cultural, social and spiritual initiatives, providing comfort and care to millions," as per the statement.


Celebrations in Ahmedabad will be go on for a month beginning 15 December, featuring daily events, thematic exhibitions and thought provoking pavilions, the PMO said.


Tamil Nadu CM's Son Udhayanidhi To Be Sworn In As Minister


Udhayanidhi, ruling DMK's youth wing secretary and MLA, will be sworn in as Minister on December 14 in the Cabinet headed by his father, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and party president, M K Stalin. 


In an official release, the Raj Bhavan said: "The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (M K Stalin) has recommended to the Governor of Tamil Nadu (R N Ravi) to induct Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly Constituency in the Council of Ministers. The Governor has approved the recommendation. The Swearing-in-Ceremony will be held on 14th December 2022 at 9.30 A.M. at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Chennai."


A first time MLA, Udhayanidhi was elected in 2021 Assembly election from the Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni Assembly constituency.


The 45-year-old legislator, who cut his teeth in the DMK's youth wing, is hailed by party workers as a successful organiser and go-getter, who made the youth wing scale new heights under his leadership.


AAP To Hold Training For Newly Elected Councillors On Wednesday


The AAP will organise a day-long training session for its newly elected councillors on December 14 to acquaint them with the funds at their disposal and the protocols they need to follow, PTI reported. The training will be conducted by ex-councillors.


The AAP emerged victorious in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections early this month, winning 134 of the 250 wards. The BJP, which had ruled the civic body for three consecutive terms, bagged 104 wards to finish second.


"The new councillors will be acquainted with the funds they have at their disposal and what kind of development work they can get done with them. The training programme will also see them getting to know about their responsibilities in the House and how can they meet with MCD officers," a party source said.
