Breaking News Live: NIA conducts searches at 2 locations in Bhopal terror funding case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at two locations in Uttar Pradesh in the Bhopal terror funding case involving the proscribed organization, JMB (Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh), ANI reported.


The raids were aimed at exposing further links and conspiracies of the 10 already arrested accused and charge-sheeted in the case by NIA Court, Bhopal. Six of the arrested accused are Bangladeshi nationals and are active JMB cadres. They had entered India illegally, without any valid documents, and had acquired false/ forged Indian identity documents with the help of their sympathizers in India, the NIA stated.

The National Democratic Alliance on Wednesday came down heavily on the Opposition parties that have decided to boycott the inaugural event of the new Parliament building on May 28. In a statment issued Wednesday, the alliance said, "This recent boycott is just another feather in their cap of disregard for democratic processes."


"Such flagrant disrespect towards this institution betrays not only intellectual bankruptcy but a disturbing contempt for the very essence of democracy. Regrettably, this is not the first instance of such disdain," it added. 


Meanwhile Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal said that it will attend the programme.  The announcement came just days after party chief Naveen Patnaik rejected the possibility of an Opposition front to take on the BJP and said his BJD would go solo in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

PM Modi To Inaugurate Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express train virtually. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the news via Twitter.


With the start-up of this train, Uttarakhand will have its first semi-high-speed train unit. Meanwhile, the locomotive will be added to the list of Vande Bharat trains that run from Delhi to cities such as Jaipur, Bhopal, and others.


The unit on this route, like all Vande Bharat Trains, will significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. The fastest train on this route currently takes about 6 hours, whereas the semi-high speed train will take about 5 hours.
