Manish Sisodia's application was not opposed by the CBI. The former deputy CM had filed an application in the court seeking permission in regard to the release of money from the MLA fund for development.
The court has adjourned the CBI case in excise policy for September 20. The court directed to give copies of the documents related to the charge sheet to all the accused.

Jadavpur University Student Death: Kolkata police registers a case based on a complaint filed by LoP and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari.
"A case has been registered at Jadavpur Police Station in Kolkata on the complaint lodged by LoP and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari. Yesterday, notice was sent to him by Jadavpur PS to furnish further details related to his complaint to the IO of the aforementioned case at the earliest," the police said.
He had filed a complaint alleging RSF activists attacked him at Jadavpur universtiy.
Bihar minister Vijay Chaudhary slams Centre and BJP on the issue of the caste-based survey:
"BJP and the central government have been completely exposed on the issue of caste-based survey in Bihar. First, they tried to stop the survey through PILs from Patna High Court to Supreme Court, now the Centre wants to submit its views on the survey," he said.

Centre has announced that for the interest of onion growers of Maharashtra, special purchase centres will be set up in Nashik and Ahmednagar."
"Onions will be purchased at Rs 2410 per quintal here. This will be huge relief for the onion growers of our state," he said in a tweet.
Farmers, under the aegis of Bhartiya Kisan Ekta, sit outside Longowal Police station in Punjab's Sangrur over several of their demands. Dilbag Singh Harigarh, a representative says, "...Farmers are suffering losses. So, 16 farmer jathebandis had demanded that the Central Govt release Rs 50,000 Crores as a relief fund, our crops are damaged. We had also demanded that the Centre form MSP law, in line with Kerala so that we are not looted..."
Sangrur SP Palwinder Singh says, "They had staged a 'dharna' yesterday. When we spoke with them and told them not to block the main highway or toll plaza, they said that they will stage a 'dharna' here (near Police Station). Suddenly, they planned to move upon which concerned SHOs and DSPs spoke to them and to stay here...They didn't listen...We are ready to talk with them. We have deployed Police force to maintain law and order, as a safety measure...We have deployed 300-350 Police personnel and also put nakabandi in place..."

The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to file detailed counter affidavits on petitions filed by Arunkumar, one of the victims of the Ambasamudram custodial torture case. Notably, Arunkumar filed a petition stating that the Police brutally assaulted him by filing a false case and illegally detaining him at Ambasamudram police station.
The case is currently being investigated by the CBCID police.

Russia's defence ministry has said that one of its Sukhoi jets "destroyed" a Ukrainian "reconnaissance boat" in the Black Sea early Tuesday, reported AFP.
"Tonight, the crew of the Su-30cm naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed a reconnaissance boat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Russian gas production facilities in the Black Sea," the ministry said on Telegram, without giving any more details, AFP added.
A male passenger died after vomitting blood on Mumbai to Ranchi flight.
"A 62-year-old male passenger was suffering from CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) & tuberculosis and omitted a large amount of blood in an aircraft (going from Mumbai to Ranchi) and was brought dead. Body was taken to GMCH in KIMS Kingsway Hospitals Ambulance for further procedures," says Aejaz Shami, DGM-Branding & Communications, KIMS Kingsway Hospitals in Maharashtra.
IndiGo issues a press statement, "IndiGo flight 6E 5093, operating from Mumbai to Ranchi was diverted to Nagpur due to a medical emergency on board. The passenger was offloaded and was rushed to the hospital for further medical assistance. Unfortunately, the passenger did not survive. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."

SP Narayanpur Pushkar Sharma speaks on the recovery of a body of a Naxal in Chhattisgarh:
"The body of a Naxal was recovered following an encounter between Naxals and security forces under the Orchha Police Station area in the Narayanpur district. Arms and ammunition including a 315-bore rifle and a .12-bore rifle recovered from the possession of the Naxal..," he said.
Tripura police on Monday seized 1.3 kg heroin valued at Rs 10 crore and arrested three drug peddlers, reported ANI.

President Murmu To Visit Goa
President Droupadi Murmu will be on a three-day visit to Goa starting Tuesday where she will attend host of events, said the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, as per a PTI report. She will attend a civic reception, to be hosted by the Goa government in her honour at the Raj Bhavan where she will distribute 'Sanad' under the Forest Rights Act to select beneficiaries. She will also grace the 34th convocation of Goa University during her visit and interact with members of tribal groups in the state. She will also address the Goa Legislative Assembly at Porvorim.
Kharge To Address Public Meeting In MP
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will on Tuesday address a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar in the Bundelkhand region. "He will reach Bhopal in the morning and then proceed to Sagar by road along with MP Congress president Kamal Nath," MP Congress media cell chairperson KK Mishra told PTI. As per the report quoting sources, Kharge was earlier scheduled to address public meeting in Sagar on August 12 but the visit was called off.
Islamabad High Court To Take Up Imran Khan's Plea
The Islamabad High Court will on Tuesday take up the plea by jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan against his conviction and sentence in the Toshakhana corruption case. A division bench, comprising IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, will take up Khan's petition on Tuesday. The defence lawyers are expected to press for immediate relief in the form of suspension of the conviction until the adjudication of the petition, stated a PTI report.
