PM Modi, Hasina To Inaugurate First India-Bangladesh Energy Pipeline On Saturday
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina will launch the first India-Bangladesh energy pipeline via video conference.
It would be the first cross-border pipeline between India and Bangladesh, costing an estimated Rs 377 crore. The overall cost includes the Rs 285 crore spent on paving the part on the Bangladesh side. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will launch the India-Bangladesh friendship pipeline via video-conference on March 18 at 1700 hours (IST)," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) stated on Friday.
''This is the first cross border energy pipeline between India and Bangladesh, built at an estimated cost of INR 377 crore, of which the Bangladesh portion of the pipeline built at a cost of approximately Rs 285 crore, has been borne by the government of India under grant assistance,'' it said in a statement.
PM Modi To Inaugurate Global Millets On March 18
On Saturday at 11 a.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference in New Delhi.

“Modi will inaugurate the Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference at Subramaniam Hall, NASC Complex, IARI Campus, PUSA New Delhi on 18 March 2023 at 11 am,” Prime Minister’s Office said on Thursday.
The United Nations General Assembly named 2023 the International Year of Millets (IYM) based on India's request (UNGA).
In addition, in accordance with the Prime Minister's vision of making IYM 2023 a "people's movement" and positioning India as the "global hub for millets," all central government ministries and departments, states and union territories, farmers, start-ups, exporters, retail businesses, and other stakeholders are being engaged to promote and spread awareness about the benefits of millets (Shree Anna) for cultivators, consumers, and the environment.
In this regard, the Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference in India is a significant programme.
