Adani-Hindenburg Row: Supreme Court To Hear SEBI’s Plea On Extension Of Probe Time On May 16

The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing on the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) petition for a six-month extension to conclude an investigation into claims of stock price manipulation by the Adani group until Tuesday.

Due to a lack of time and a scheduled hearing before a special bench at 3 p.m., the hearing on the market regulator's appeal and PILs could not take place on Monday.

On May 12, a bench comprised of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala stated that it would consider extending SEBI three additional months to complete its investigation into charges of stock price manipulation and deficiencies in regulatory disclosure.

Meanwhile, SEBI submitted a response document outlining additional reasons for requesting more time to investigate the matter.
