Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi To Appear Before Delhi Court In Land-For-Job Scam Case
In a case involving the alleged land-for-job scam, former railway minister Lalu Prasad, his wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, and 14 others are likely to appear in court on Wednesday, reported news agency PTI.
The case involves alleged railway appointments in exchange for land parcels given to or sold to Prasad's family while he was minister of railways from 2004 to 2009.
In its charge sheet, the CBI claimed that irregular appointments were made in the railways, in violation of Indian Railways' recruitment guidelines.
It was alleged that the candidates, either directly or through their immediate relatives and family members, sold land to the RJD chief Prasad's family, who was then railway minister, at prices as low as one-fifth of market rates.
On February 27, special judge Geetanjali Goel sent out summonses to the accused, including Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti, and told them to show up in court on March 15.

Bharat Jagruthi, a cultural organization led by Kavitha, is organising the event.
On March 10, Kavitha, the daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, led a hunger strike in Delhi in an effort to get the Women's Reservation Bill, which has been on hold for a long time, passed during the Budget session of Parliament.
The Congress and the BJP had claimed that the BRS MLC's hunger strike in support of the bill was an effort to avoid appearing before the Enforcement Directorate regarding the Delhi excise policy case.
