"There is a submission by the UBT faction that respondents from the Shinde faction deliberately remained absent in a meeting dated June 21, 2022. It will not be correct to say that Sunil Prabhu had any authority to call the said meeting. Petitioners' submission that respondents from Shinde faction are liable to be disqualified due to nonattendance is rejected," Narwekar said.
"Legislators acting in consort with the BJP cannot be grounds for disqualification. the claim by Thackeray that Shinde made anti-party/anti-coalition statements are just allegations. They cannot be grounds for disqualification," the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker added further.

Congress Chief Kharge To Attend Party Meet In Delhi Today:
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced on Tuesday that a meeting will be held on January 10 to assign responsibilities to the party's various units for the Lok Sabha elections.
He said he will travel to Delhi on Wednesday to hold the meeting.
"The INDIA bloc has made some decisions regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. I'm heading to Delhi tomorrow. There is a meeting with various units from our party. We need to assign responsibilities to different units," Kharge was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
The 81-year-old Rajya Sabha member stated that the party has appointed over 500 observers in the constituencies. The party has also appointed district-level observers.
Sanitation-Related Drive To Kick Off In Delhi From Wednesday:
Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi announced on Tuesday that a sanitation-related drive will begin on January 10 across all 12 zones, claiming that people will see a "cleaner and better city" in the next one and a half months.
She had stated a week before that "marathon inspections" would be conducted to improve the city's cleanliness as part of the "Ab Delhi Hogi Saaf" campaign.
"This will be turned into a 'jan jagaran abhiyan' (public awareness campaign), and we want support of the masses, MLAs, councillors, everyone," she told reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, as per a PTI report.
The mayor also shared a five-day campaign schedule, which begins in the City-Sadar Paharganj Zone.
Delhi HC To Hear DCPCR's Plea Against Freezing Of Funds Today:
The Delhi High Court will hear on Wednesday a petition by the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) against the alleged freezing of its funds by the state authorities.
On Tuesday, Justice Subramonium Prasad directed the child rights organization's counsel to serve a copy of the plea to the lieutenant governor's office and notify it of its scheduled listing.
The petition was heard by the High Court after being transferred from the Supreme Court.
"This petition was transferred from the Supreme Court. The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the petition on the respondent and inform him that the matter will be heard tomorrow," the court stated.
