Breaking News Live: Army Jawan Dies Of Electrocution In Rajasthan

An army jawan died of electrocution in the cantonment area here on Thursday, police said, as reported by news agency PTI. Lance Havildar Jagroop Singh (28) suffered an electric shock after touching a water motor in a park located in the cantonment. Singh's body has been sent to his native village Tarn Taran in Punjab where his last rites will be performed, a police official said.

2 Sisters Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances In UP

Bodies of two sisters, including a minor, were found under suspicious circumstances in Bareilly district, police said on Thursday, as reported by news agency PTI. The father of the duo has filed a police complaint against one of his neighbours accusing him of molesting and harassing his daughters on numerous occasions. He also alleged that the neighbour and his sister-in-law allegedly forced his daughters to commit suicide.


Additional Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chandra Mishra said the bodies of the duo were found in their house on Wednesday night. While one of them was hanging from the ceiling, the other was on the ground, PTI reported. Their father told police that he and his wife had left home in the morning to work in their field. When they returned in the evening, they found the bodies. A vial of poison was also found at the spot, he said in his complaint.


He accused his neighbour and his sister-in-law of "instigating" his daughters to commit suicide.

Hot Weather Continues In Kerala: IMD Issues Yellow Alert In 3 districts Till May 9


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and  Kozhikode districts of the state till May 9 due to the likelihood of heat wave conditions there.  The IMD said maximum temperatures were likely to be around 39 degrees Celsius in Kollam, Palakkad and Kozhikode, 38 degrees Celsius in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur, 37 degrees Celsius in Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Kannur and 36 degrees Celsius in Malappuram and Kasaragod districts of the state from today till May 10.  


These temperatures were three to five degrees Celsius more than what was normal for this time of the year, it said.   Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and Kozhikode districts on May 8 and 9 (YELLOW WARNING), the IMD further said.  


May 9 Mob Violence Will Be A 'Dark Day' In Pak History; Incidents 'Severely Tarnished' Country's Image: Ruling coalition


Pakistan's ruling coalition on Wednesday said that May 9, 2023, will always be remembered as a Dark Day in Pakistan’s history after supporters of ex-prime minister Imran Khan's party vandalised a dozen military installations, including the Army headquarters, incidents that severely tarnished the country’s image.On May 9, last year, Khan’s party workers vandalised a dozen military installations, including the Jinnah House (Lahore Corps Commander House), Mianwali Airbase and the ISI building in Faisalabad after the cricketer-turned-politician was arrested in a corruption case.


The Army headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi was also attacked by the mob for the first time.On Wednesday, the ruling coalition-- the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People's Party separately announced that the day would be remembered as a Dark Day in the country's history.In a statement issued by the PPP, the President of the country and the supremo of the party Asif Ali Zardari said that the incidents on May 9th, 2023 were an attempt to challenge the writ of the state, undermine the rule of law and weaken the institutions.May 9th 2023 will always be remembered as a Dark Day in Pakistan’s history when a politically instigated mob ran amok across the country, damaging public property and military installations.
