Congress Trying To Divide Country, PM Modi Says In Bihar Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed on Saturday that the Congress is trying to divide the nation based on religion and its ally Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was supporting it.

Addressing a public rally in Bihar's Darbhanga, PM Modi said "Under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Constituent Assembly decided 75 years ago that reservations cannot be given based on religion in our country. The country's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, had also opposed reservations based on religion, but now the Congress is going against that spirit," IANS quoted saying.

Criticising the Congress, PM Modi said: "The Congress is trying to reduce the quota of Other Backward Castes (OBC) and give reservations to Muslims based on religion and the RJD is working shoulder to shoulder in this conspiracy of Congress." "I have been challenging Congress for the last 12 days that the INDIA bloc should give in writing that it will not snatch away the reservations of SC, ST, and OBCs based on religion and give it to Muslims. But they have been silent."

Mumbai To Witness High Sea Waves Till Sunday Night: BMC

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a warning on Saturday advising individuals against venturing into the Arabian Sea amidst forecasts of high tide until Sunday night.

Citing information from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information (INCOIS), the civic body alerted that the sea would experience a surge in wave height from 11:30 am on Saturday to 11:30 pm on Sunday.

As per the PTI report, during this period, wave heights are expected to increase by 0.5 to 1.5 meters, the BMC noted. Additionally, the BMC urged fishermen to exercise caution and remain vigilant.

BMC commissioner Bhushan Gagarin instructed civic personnel to collaborate with the police, with security personnel stationed at beaches instructed to prohibit individuals from entering the water.
