SC To Hear Bengal Govt's Appeal Against HC Order On CBI Probe Into Sandeshkhali Case

On April 29, the Supreme Court to hear two appeals from the West Bengal government against recent rulings by the Calcutta High Court. The first appeal pertains to the Calcutta High Court's directive for a CBI probe into the Sandeshkhali violence case, a decision contested by the state government. The second appeal concerns the cancellation of approximately 24,000 appointments of teaching and non-teaching staff made in 2016 by the West Bengal School Service Commission, as ordered by the High Court, reported ANI.

Indian Coast Guard, ATS Gujarat And NCB Seize Pakistani Boat In A Joint Operation In Arabian Sea

The Indian Coast Guard, in a coordinated operation with the ATS Gujarat and NCB, apprehended a Pakistani boat in the Arabian Sea, west of Porbandar. The operation involved the India Coast Guard Ship Rajratan and resulted in the apprehension of 14 Pakistani crew members and the seizure of approximately 86 kilograms of contraband. The value of the seized contraband is estimated to be around Rs 600 crores. This successful operation follows a previous interception last month, during which 80 kilograms of drugs were seized, reported ANI.

Saudi Arabia to host WEF Special Meeting on Global Collaboration 


Saudi Arabia is set to host the World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development on April 28th and 29th, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The two-day event aims to gather over 1,000 global leaders, including heads of state, government officials, and thought leaders from various sectors, alongside representatives from international organizations, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The goal is to tackle pressing global development challenges through productive dialogues and collaborative efforts.


According to the SPA report, the meeting will focus on three central themes: Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development. With an agenda designed to foster cooperation, the event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. It seeks to bring together leaders and experts committed to building a more resilient, sustainable, and equitable world.


Rahul, Nadda to address Lok Sabha poll rallies in Odisha
