PM Modi, Amit Shah To Address Rallies In Chhattisgarh


Campaigning for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh is intensifying as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are slated to address rallies in the coming days.


According to BJP state media co-incharge Anurag Agrawal, Shah will hold a public meeting in the Kanker Lok Sabha constituency in the Bastar region on Monday, PTI reported.


PM Modi, on the other hand, is scheduled to address campaign rallies on April 23 and 24 in the Sarguja, Mahasamund, and Janjgir-Champa Lok Sabha constituencies.


The second phase of polling, scheduled for April 26, will cover the Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker seats.


Shah arrived at Swami Vivekanand Airport in Raipur on Sunday evening and chaired a meeting of senior party leaders at the state BJP headquarters.


"Shah took stock of poll preparations as well as the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 23 and 24," Agrawal said.


EC Announces Fresh Polls In 11 Polling Stations In Manipur On Monday


The Election Commission on Saturday announced the Lok Sabha elections held at 11 polling stations in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency as void and re-scheduled to hold repolling in all these stations on Monday.


Manipur's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Pradeep Kumar Jha, highlighted on Saturday night that fresh polling is slated to be held in these 11 polling stations under the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat.


“All voters of these 11 polling stations are appealed to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday,” the CEO told IANS.


The opposition Congress has sought repoll in at least 47 polling stations in Manipur, alleging that a large number of polling booths were captured and destroyed on Friday.
